About Lawrence Hometown Heroes 5K
Sergeant Saindon and Sergeant Taylor both took pride in calling Lawrence their hometown and worked as partners at the Lawrence Police Department early in their careers. On February 26, 2024 Sergeant Saindon passed away after a brief illness. On April 26, 2024 Sergeant Taylor was killed in the line of duty. The loss of these two hometown heroes is immeasurable. The mission of the Lawrence Hometown Heroes Memorial Fund is to carry on the legacy of Sergeant Charles M. Saindon and Sergeant Ian G. Taylor; to honor and celebrate their lives and dedication to protecting the communities they served.
